One user has always had his sent emails delayed for 5 minutes. Since Tuesday the following has been happening. ALL the emails in ALL my accounts were downloading. I have done the following. Run scanpst.exe which said there were errors, and were fixed No joy, all emails re downloaded. Deleted all the e-mail accounts and reinstalled all the e-mail accounts. No joy, after the initial download of all the e-mails which was to be expected subsequent send and recieve still downloads all e-mails. Deleted outlook.pst and allowed it to be recreated. No joy, all e-mails still downloading. Selected each e-mail account and then repair from the menu options. No joy, all e-mails still downloading. Deleted all E-mail accounts & then deleted outlook.pst Ran Outlook, shutdown outlook, and run again then added E-mail accounts. Again after the initial download of all the e-mails all subsequent send and recieve still download all emails. The only thing I have not done yet is to reinstall Outlook. This is driving me potty as I fix PC's normally and very rarely do i get stumped by something. Avast scans show no viruses, No background programs running that are unnecessary, No malware. Known issue caused by the latest update to OL'2016 involving those using POP email accounts with the option checked for 'Leave messages on server' and value in '# of days'. I am having the same issue, but I am in a position where I can't go back. There is actually another variants of this event, that is even worse. Been testing this for 3 days now. I have demonstrated, and it appears to be timing, that Outlook 2016 can delete an email on the server, WITHOUT downloading it. And you will never see that email.
